The leadership of the Coordination Council for Trans-Siberian Transportation (CCTT) participated in the 88th session of the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ITC UNECE), held in Geneva from February 17 to 19, 2026.

During the event, Mikhail Goncharov, Secretary General of the CCTT, delivered a report outlining the organization’s key objectives:

"The main task of the CCTT is to create conditions for profitable, reliable, and safe cargo transportation along the international transport corridors ‘West—East’ and ‘North—South’. To achieve this, it is necessary to constantly work on eliminating bottlenecks: administrative barriers at borders, technical incompatibilities of transport systems, and other constraining factors. This is precisely why we actively and continuously interact with the ITC UNECE to find solutions in the interests of all participants in the transportation process."

Key Outcomes of CCTT Participation in the Session:

Launch of a joint pilot project. During the 34th plenary meeting, a decision was made to implement a joint pilot project by the CCTT, UNECE, and the International Road Transport Union (IRU) on applying the TIR Carnet (TIR Convention) for railway transportation involving road transport. The project aims to simplify customs procedures and enhance the efficiency of combined transport.

Cooperation with the ITC UNECE remains one of the priorities for the CCTT. This collaboration is aimed at removing barriers in international transportation, harmonizing regulatory requirements, and creating favorable conditions for the development of transcontinental transport routes.
