Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan
The CCTT actively participated in the V Eurasian Economic Forum held on May 28-29, 2026, in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, during the Republic of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) bodies. The event took place on the margins of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting with the participation of the heads of the EAEU states.

Secretary General Mikhail Goncharov delivered speeches at two key sessions:
- «Digital Trade in the EAEU — Prospects, Approaches, Tools»
- «Experience of International Organizations in Digital Transformation of Transportation»
Key e-commerce indicators:
- 2–6% — contribution of e-commerce to the GDP of EAEU countries
- 80–94% — share of internet users who are online shoppers
- USD 6.5 trillion — global e-commerce volume
- 20% — share of e-commerce in all retail sales
- 7–8% — annual growth rate of the e-commerce market
- Growth of small and frequent shipments
- Need to locate warehouses closer to consumer
- Active implementation of digital tracking systems
- 90% — level of electronic legally significant document flow in Russian Railways
- September 1, 2026 — mandatory introduction date of electronic transport documents in Russia
«E-commerce today is not only a cargo supplier for logistics companies, but is already participating to some extent in shaping the transport landscape of the Eurasian region», noted CCTT Secretary General Mikhail Goncharov in his speech.
The Eurasian Economic Forum served as an important platform for discussing key issues of digital trade and logistics development in the EAEU region.
Particular attention was paid to the development of e-commerce, which is becoming an increasingly significant driver of cargo transportation growth. This is an important step towards forming a modern, efficient, and secure system of international transportation. The decisions made and recommendations developed will contribute to further development of transport infrastructure and strengthening economic ties between the countries of the Eurasian region.
