CCTT participated in the Second Meeting of the UNECE Coordination Committee for Managing EATS Route No. 1
The CCTT participated in the second meeting of the UNECE Coordination Committee for managing the European Agreement on the Main International Railway Lines (EATS) Route No. 1. The meeting was attended by Secretary General Mikhail Goncharov.
The event served as a platform for discussing key issues of international transport corridor development, sharing experience among route participants, and developing joint solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
The meeting participants focused on a comprehensive analysis of the current state of EATS Route No. 1 and its branches. Special attention was paid to optimizing transportation processes, reducing costs, and increasing the corridor’s competitiveness in the international transport services market.
Key Areas of Committee Activity
- Monitoring the operation of the corridor and its branches
- Developing unified forms for presenting technical and operational indicators by all route participants
- Identifying existing and assessing potential bottlenecks (both physical and non-physical barriers)
- Developing measures to eliminate identified bottlenecks
- Creating joint roadmaps
- Preparing recommendations for developing and improving corridor operations
- Monitoring tariff conditions for transportation with the aim of developing an agreement on through (end-to-end) tariff rates along the entire route
- Implementing digital tools and digitizing procedures in the transportation process
- Assessing risks and forecasting expected effects from implemented measures
- Developing proposals to improve the environmental friendliness of the transport corridor
The meeting outlined priority tasks for the upcoming period and approved the Committee’s future work plan. Participants confirmed their readiness for constructive interaction to achieve common goals — creating a reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport corridor that meets modern international standards.
