Association of Food Sector Organisations (ASORPS), President

Project objectives:

  • to improve quality and efficiency of transportation of perishable freights with use of transport infrastructure of the Russian Federation.
  • to generate strategic initiatives to ensure food security of the RF.
  • facilitating to build a relevant international legal framework for perishable freights transportation.
  • Project tasks

    • Consideration of matters related to thermally sensitive freights transportation in Russian and international traffic:
      • Development of measures and proposals to ensure uninterrupted refrigeration chain;
      • Implementation of innovative technologies;
      • Application of electronic document flow;
      • Monitoring of transportation and safety of freights, including through electronic (navigation) seals;
      • Development of proposals in key requirements to temperature control sensors in uninterrupted refrigeration chain;
      • Development of proposals and measures to formulate a competitive through-rate;
      • Development of proposals to simplify customs procedures, etc.
    • Formulating and launching transport products for transportation of perishable agricultural goods, confectionery, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, household chemicals, paint-and-lacquer materials, computer equipment, etc.
    • Use of digital platform solutions and cloud technologies for automated monitoring and control in perishable goods transportation.
    • Widening the geography of perishable goods transportation in railroad and multimodal international traffic (with Asia-Pacific, South-East Asia, ASEAN countries, etc.).
    • Coordination of work to organize multimodal transportation of perishable freights by various modes of transport: interaction between railroads, sea ports, stevedores, motor, sea, and air carriers.
    • Promotion of multimodal services for perishable freights transportation and acceleration of transport products from CCTT member companies in the international transport services market.

Areas of work

  • Holding meetings of the project group CCTT Cold Chain (hereinafter — PG) to address the questions in the context of discussed and tackled tasks, including:
    • On exchange of information on current situation in perishable freights transportation through (in/out) the territory of the RF;
    • On enhancing the infrastructure capabilities of railroads and sea ports to accept and handle refrigerating containers;
    • On ensuring the alignment of planning the scope of transportation with the traffic capacities of border crossings;
    • On ensuring paperless transportation;
    • On process structuring for control and monitoring of temperature stability of freights along the entire transportation route;
    • On application of new types of environmentally friendly cooling agents (green technologies, etc.).
  • Implementation of advanced technical, technological, and IT solutions in perishable food products transportation.
  • Facilitation in development of perishable freights transportation in refrigerating containers with centralized power supply along the fastest and shortest route in Russia — China traffic options via the land border crossings Zabaykalsk — Manchuria, Dostyk — Alashankou.
  • Holding joint CCTT/ASORPS international workshops (webinars) on information exchange in international experience in organizing and implementing uninterrupted refrigeration chain in transportation and storage of thermally sensitive freights.
  • Holding working meetings with relevant organisations and government agencies (the Ministry of Transport of the RF, Federal Customs Service of Russia, Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Russian Federal Fisheries Agency, Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights, etc.) on simplification of the transportation process for perishable freights in international traffic.
  • Development of business cooperation between freight owners and freight forwarders of perishable freights: holding B2B meetings.
  • Participation and hosting CCTT business events on uninterrupted refrigeration chain as part of international transport-logistics and food products trade fairs (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chengdu, Beijing, Lianyungang, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Singapore, Istanbul, Tehran, Mumbai, etc.).
  •  Preparation and placement of information and ads materials on perishable freights transportation in an annual CCTT review titled "Trans-Eurasian Routes" and on the Sustainable Supply Chain Connect Global Portal (sscc-global.com).
